After a short one week Christmas family holiday, I arrived back in North Sydney and walked straight back into the studio to take Baby Ivana’s newborn photographs.  Her parents warned me that she was fiesty and that they had not been getting much sleep. But I could totally forgive Ivana, given how absolutely gorgeous she is!  I found that Ivana was happy to sleep and be posed – she just did not want to sleep for very long in any one pose.  That was totally ok – she was just telling me that that she wanted to try out lots of different colours and outfits!  Lucky for her – I had selected some hats and headbands from two of my favourite vendors Knitz and Peachy Poppet Designs.  If you are starting out as a newborn photographer, then you should definitely go and check out these two stores.

One of the most common question that I get from parents that inquire with me about hiring me as their newborn photographer, is “what if my baby does not sleep”.  I always reassure them that I am extremely patient and that we have all day – I can outlast them and eventually all babies will fall asleep and then we can get their gorgeous newborn photographs taken.  Every baby is different, and some, like baby Ivana, only sleep for a few moments at a time. Baby Ivana made me work hard during the session, but it was worth it and now her family have beautiful images of her that captures her baby newness!
