Little Asher was born just after Christmas, so I squeezed in his session during my summer holiday. At the time of his session, his mum and dad had not announced his name – it was fun to imagine what his name was going to be – I think ‘Asher’ suits him perfectly. Little Asher was perfect throughout his whole photo shoot, so calm and sleepy ….. except when we tried to put a hat on his head! Yes, that is right, we quickly discovered that Asher did not like hats that much! It was fantastic that Asher’s big brother came along for the shoot – the shots that I took of Asher and his big brother are some of my all-time favourite sibling images. You can just see how proud Max is to be a big brother and how much fun these two are going to have growing up together. With Asher’s cute chubby cheeks, it is almost impossible for me to pick out a favourite image from his newborn photography session – although I do find the hat and pants outfit to be totally adorable. Sydney Newborn Photography Workshops – Studio Lighting – Award-Winning Newborn Photographer, Rebecca Connolly Photography

Little Hudson was our second model of the day at the Sydney Newborn Photography Workshop held in Chatswood. At the beginning of the shoot, Hudson was wide awake and calmly taking in his surroundings. With his cheeky little grin, I am sure he knew that he was supposed to be asleep – but he was much too smart for that! But he soon drifted off and we were able to get some gorgeous photos of him. How cute is he!! Hudson has the most perfect little features – he is most definitely going to be a heart-breaker when he grows up. And those eyelashes – I am envious of those lashes! Thank you so much to Hudson’s mother and grandmother for coming out to my studio and letting us photograph your handsome boy – it was lovely to meet you and my absolute pleasure to take newborn photographs of baby Hudson. Sydney Newborn Photography Workshops – Studio Lighting – Award-Winning Newborn Photographer, Rebecca Connolly Photography

Cute little Izayah was our second model of the day at the Sydney Newborn Photography Workshop held in Chatswood. The moment I saw Izayah with his dark hair, I fell in love with this little guy – who wouldn’t!! Look at his handsome face, squishy cheeks and cute pouty lips. He was a perfect little model for us. Without a doubt, his favourite pose of the day was what we call the ‘taco’ pose on a dark brown blanket – all curled up like inside the womb – he was so happy and content and would have slept like that for hours! Thank you so much to Izayah and his mother for making the journey to my studio for the workshop – it was my absolute pleasure to take newborn photographs for you to keep and treasure as Izayah grows up. Now you will always remember just how small he was once! Sydney Newborn Photography – Workshops – Studio Lighting

Gorgeous baby Leila was our first little model of the day at the Newborn Photography Workshop held in Sydney, Chatswood. Her mum had told me that she was a really calm baby – and she was! So happy and content, she did not even open her eyes during the whole photography session. Leila has the most gorgeous skin, pretty little features and the cutest little smile. I am so glad that we were able to use some cute little outfits and headbands – I love using all of these sweet little girly accessories. I am so thankful to her mum from bringing Leila along for the morning and sharing her with us. I have the best job in the world, getting to meet and cuddle with all of these gorgeous newborn babies. Sydney Newborn Photography: This week’s featured vendor is the gorgeous ‘Dandified’ store run by Jessica. As a Sydney newborn photography studio, I have accumulated a rather large quantity of beautiful headbands for use by clients during their session. For the last three years my headbands have lived in plastic tupperware boxes – not the most attractive! I have searched and searched for the perfect headband display solution and was so excited when I found Dandified. Now my headbands are beautifully displayed in my studio! Given how much I love these, I asked Jessica from Dandified if should would answer a few questions to give us an insight into her and her store (see the interview below).

1) When did you start Dandified and what was your inspiration for your store?

I started crocheting when my first son, Daniel, was born back in July 2012. I would make him cute little outfits and eventually friends started asking me to make things for their kids as well. I officially started Dandified in September that year but it wasn’t until that Christmas that I ventured into the newborn photography prop arena. The next year I re-taught myself how to knit and that’s when it really just took off!

2) What made you think up the idea of making a headband tieback holder?

The idea for the {Handy Dandy} Tieback Holder came to me after seeing many many posts in photographer groups asking how people store their headbands/tiebacks and nobody really had a good solution! I put my engineering skills to work and drew out a design I thought would be really cool and functional and brought it to my husband to make. He was a little skeptical at first (“…so what exactly is this for again?” “Do you really think photographers will be able to fill 15 spots?” … men ) but we spent a lot of time rethinking and fine tuning to come up with the product we offer now.

3) What style/colour of the headband tieback holder is the most popular?

The white wash finish seems to be the most popular as of right now. Nothing official yet, but we are hoping to add some more color options to the shop eventually! The bundle is probably my favorite because it is my little brain child and almost everyone who orders just the large always comes back and says they need more!

4) What is your favourite item in your store at the moment?

My favorite item in the shop at the moment is probably my line of bow headbands. I started with just a simple mohair option but have since added angora, metallic, and alpaca mini versions as well. It makes my heart so happy to see photos from my customers of any of my products in use, but I secretly love the bows the best!

5) Tell us three words that best describe you.

Oh gosh that’s tough. I guess I’d like to think I’m passionate, innovative, and fun!
